A journey to the fake world By - Pillai Adwait (M.A. Sem-1)

A journey to the fake world

I was a five year old
Looking at the world
Saw different things
A big house ,
A small shop,
People sleeping on street.
I didn't know much ,
I was curious
As time passed
I understood everything.
It was time to face the world
And I had to take off
The most expensive ornament,
My innocence.
As the world is fake
And i had to act fake
To survive.

A village's morning by Adwait Pillai M.A(English)

A village's morning

It's the early morning
Sun just rising
And sky looks charming
With its orangish colour.

As hen clucks,
The village wakes up
As it's the alarm,
For the village

The men go to farms
Women do their households
Youngsters go with horses
For the ride

The small boys reach
The pond to have fun
The little girls play
Their favorite games

There are no mobile notifications
Or honking of horns
There is no fast race of life,
Every is peaceful and jovial

Mother earth smiles
At seeing her children
Happy and jovial,
Away from unreal world

Sun rises to give extra glow
To mother earth's happiness....

My Favorite Book by Alsaba R Ansari Semester I ,Commerce

My Favorite Book

Some read books to idle away their time. Some read books to widen their knowledge, while many others read books to enjoy it's content. I belong to this category. I enjoy reading good books particularly novels, short stories, plays, etc.

The world famous literary works of great authors such as Charles Dickens, Tolstoy, Dominique Lappiere, Rabindranath Tagore, R.k.Narayan, Arundhati Roy, Salman Rushdie, etc. have always charmed and thrilled me, giving waves of delight, leisure, relaxation and mental refreshment.
Among all, my favourite book is "City of joy" written by Dominique Lappiere. The book is a touching description of the lives of the slum dwellers of kolkata. The street urchins, cycle-rickshaw pullers, city vendors, coolies, pimp's, ordinary men and women are the real heroes and heroines of this story.

Their lives, their joys and suffering and their pitiable existance are vividly painted by the author. It is the story of the most unwanted people of the society's. But the author finds joy, courage, excellence, and fine qualities amidst this miserable existance. The story has touched me so much that I have read this book several times during the last few years.

The most attractive feature of the book, which impressed me most was the author's mention of minute details. The author does not give a picture of slums of kolkata from far but rather presents a realistic picture with its congested dwellings, dirty drains, narrow footpath, people's quarrels and fights, their feasts and festivals, etc.

The beauty of narration becomes all the more thrilling when it is realistic and true. No wonder why the book has won so much international acclaim. Secondly, the superb presentation of the scenes, characters and episodes whether important or unimportant in the story, keeps the reader spellbound throughout.

The language is simple and the style of narration is down to earth. The author's skill of characterisation is too exquisite to go unnoticed. When I read the book, a whole face of numerous lives open before me. Lappiere's art of story building is also most impressive.

A thought on happiness in life by Adwait Pillai (M.A.)

Happiness in life.....

In the present life being happy is the biggest challenge for every individual. All the people have tension about so many different things.
With the internet services all the people take help of the YouTube videos for being happy which never works as every individual is different.
The only way to be the happiest is: “TO LIVE IN THE PRESENT”
Being in present will help a person forget the past and stop thinking about future and you can just go with flow of life.
So,be in present and be happy and enjoy the life.

Poem- INDIAN INDEPENDENCE.....By Adwait Pillai M.A. Semester 1

INDIAN INDEPENDENCE...........

As the Union Jack stumbled
And our TIRANGA got hoisted,
INDIA awakened
To new world of brightness
And hope.

India sensed the air of
Freedom coming from,
The middle of the torn
Union Jack and in that air
Fluttered the TRICOLOUR proudly.

Let us bow down to the
COURAGE, VALOUR
 and SACRIFICE of our
Freedom fighters.

But it's the real despair
After these long years of freedom,
INDIA is still to fulfill
The dreams of our
Brave MARTYRS.

Let's fill ourselves with colour of patriotism
And chase their dreams and fulfill them....
             HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY

The right to roam alone, unapologetic and free By Bhoomika Swami Semester V (Arts)

The right to roam alone, unapologetic and free.

Why women and girls are repeatedly warned and taught fear?
Why they are also told that their safety is their responsibility?
Why always girls and women are taught to stay more alert, more careful?
Why always people use to blame girl only if any sexual violence take place?
Why always people blame that revealing clothes?
Why people put so many questions on a woman or a girl character?

First society imprisons a girl in a fear and after an incident, when women's and girls’ use to gather with the courage to ask for justice, they are blame and told to shut up.
Why only women's way of behaving, thinking and identity is controlled??????

By doing all this thing a society can never put an end to sexual violence. The biggest fear for a girl and a woman is not of a sexual violence, it is of society.

Question yourself " What kind of masculinity and violence are you perpetrating through this blame game?". A girl and a woman are not only responsible for this. When a girl and a woman is free of blame, we will be free from fear as.

A girl child must have right to roam alone, unapologetic and free. To walk under the starlit night is our right. We have the right to smell the night blooming jasmine.

“The need exists is to felt an emotion of a girl instead of understanding it”.

PRIORITY TOWARDS AWARENES- How I Understand

When I was a kid people use to say that Books are the best source of education. Well gaining information about anything may makes you knowledgeable, but at the same time on the other hand if you are not applying that knowledge may pushes you downwards instead of pulling you upwards. Therefore, both gaining knowledge and applying it whenever needed should be balanced like in a Brass Scale.
In a country like India, people are more found to take interest in the affair of people's rather than updating themselves by knowing the rights and changes in them from time to time by government for the betterment of ourselves.
Now a days, wearing dupatta to cover your face may protect you from sun rays, but fails to protect you from the crimes happening in the society. Therefore, it is much important to know your right and to protect yourself. It's your right to know about your rights. ITC Vivel believes that for a more equal society, awareness of legal rights is the first step towards empowering and protecting women. It grimly believes that no one should allow to compromise on their dignity, be discriminated against or denied their rights as provided by law.
With a #AbSamjhautanNahi, Karuna Naundy Advocate of Supreme Court, is organizing seminars throughout the country for empowering and protecting women by giving them knowledge about their rights. If they face harassment at workplace, domestic violence, martial rape, divorce, maintenance and alimony, child custody, they can use Right to property, Civil Rights, Cyber laws, Right to education, and women's rights to get justice.
Now, do not feel disrespect, no more getting the feeling of humiliation, no more discriminate in society. Raise your voice because your voice cannot be denied by anyone. You are responsible for yourself. Keeping awareness about your rights is your first priority. Many a times people may fail to provide you justice, but your rights, laws will not fail in doing that.
At last but not the least, Girls and Women just expand your limits, with awareness of yours rights.

My Notes by Dharendra Ratandeep Semester III (Arts)

MY NOTES
29 July 2019, 5:30 PM

Poem - Beach and the Sea,The true soulmates by Pillai Adwait (MA Semester I)

Beach and the Sea,The true soulmates

The beach and the sea,
The true soulmates
The never ending
Love story.

They are inseparable
And the most beautiful couple
Their children,
The variety of fishes in the sea.

The sea gifts
The beach many gifts
Like shell,pearls,diamonds
And endless love.

The visitors of the beach
Come to see the,
Beauty of the true
Love of these soulmates.

The waves of the sea
Now and then come,
To take care of the beach
And keep it happy.

The beach and the sea
The epitome true love.

Poem मजबूर हूँ! by Muskan Sirwam Semester -III (Arts)

Poem - LIFE - A CUT PRICE by Bhoomika Swami, semester V (Arts)

LIFE - A CUT PRICE

Her name have to be different,
She is a fame of her parent.
The way she live her life.
Who knows she will always apologize.

Both weep each other's tears,
With that fake smile they wear.
The old man's grey hair,
Now feel everything was unfair.

Paying his daughter dowry,
Had gloomed all his cowrie.
Living a life is still worthy?
When every time you are in controversy!

Paying depth to Greedy one's,
Is not to be done!
She commands his father,
With a little hope she gathers,

Tears are shed on both the sides,
All of sudden both gets aside,
Finally she attempts suicide,
Hoping she leaves happiness behind.

Poem : Life taught lessons by Ummekulsm Tinwala Semester V(Arts)

Life taught lessons

Things that make us
Things that break us
Well, are they things?
I call them experiences
The lessons they teach us
The change they bring in us
Sometimes they rise us
Sometimes they push us
To the extremes of our abilities
To the peak of our capacities
They make us strive, cry
Frighten us. Well, they brighten us!
Sometimes they mould us
Into the shapes of life
Break us, tear us, blow us
Ultimately they glow us!

Am I worth to feel love-Poem by Manush Semester V(Arts)

Am I worth to feel love

Am I worth to feel love
I know what I want and what I deserve but is universe is ready to give me that
Am I worth to feel like others when I see them in love or it's a sign that u can't make it

Am  I  expecting too much or living in my own fairy land . Not knowing will this really happen .
Try really hard to be positive or give it a happy ending
But my chaos still ends in a question
Am I worth to feel love.

Self doubt- poem by Disha Mehta Semester V ( Arts)

Self doubt

Confusion
About my existence.
About my presence.
About my living-being
About my mark to be left seen or unseen
I do have plenty of dreams,
But also lack of self-esteem.
